Shedd offers various options for supporting the work at the aquarium. If you're interested in aquatic life and want to further their protection and conservation, or want to learn more about aquatic habitats and other wildlife, Shedd Aquarium is the place to get involved.

Become an Employee: Do just about anything! Shedd is not only a great place to visit; it's a great place to work! Departments that make up Shedd include animal husbandry, marketing, development, education, design as well as administrative divisions, all working to create the best aquarium in the world for our guests and our animals.

Become a Volunteer: Work in nearly any department at the Shedd. Volunteers assist our guests in learning more about the fascinating animals that live at Shedd; teach classes to school children; dive the Oceanarium or Caribbean Reef Exhibit and help maintain our animal husbandry areas. As a Shedd volunteer you will find the experience rewarding and educational.

Become an Intern: Work with the animals and get credit too! We have several intern programs available. Some offer educational credit for academic programs.
