The Georges Fellowship for Conservation

Through a grant from the Georges Foundation, Shedd Aquarium offers a one-of-a- kind summer internship for a first-year law student who is enrolled in an Illinois law school and is interested in environmental law. The Georges Fellowship for Conservation includes an eight-week internship with Shedd's Conservation Department focusing on environmental policy research. It includes mentoring by a practicing environmental law attorney (from Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue in Chicago), additional advising by environmental attorney and Aquarium environmental advocacy advisor Liz Georges and a stipend. The recipient will receive valuable hands-on experience researching timely environmental issues that are relevant to the Aquarium. One fellowship will be awarded each year through a competitive application process. Interested students should contact the career services department at their school.
