Amazon Rising: Seasons of the River

There are many differences in opinion and views when considering the Amazon, or Amazonia as it is more commonly called. Which ones should take precedence? In helping Amazonia choose a "voice" to represent itself, the students will discover that to fully understand and appreciate the Amazon, different and varied viewpoints must be taken into consideration. Amazon Teacher Trip
 
  This summer will be one to remember for a group of Illinois teachers. They will be joining Shedd Aquarium staff for an encore to last year's phenomenal educators-only, nine-day excursion to the Amazon, a land of striking contrasts and lush biodiversity! Check back in August to read about the teachers' experiences.
